Joe H. Here's one for you. I had a friend give me a mint 110 that doesn't have any markings or stampings on it! Friend was an US Army Ranger in the '80's and was given the knife by an old VN vet Ranger Sgt.when he was in the service. The sheath is black ,has Buck logo on the snap and has seen hard service but the knife is almost mint and appears unsharpened. It has brass and ss pins, dark wood and the chunky look of older (60's-70's) 110's. I've seen enough 110's both old and new to say this is the real thing (ie Buck) or the best copy ever made-but not one marking or logo on it. I saw several 110's in VN as they were popular with SF types but were private purchase with Buck logos. Any "clandestine" 110's ever made during VN for SF issue? Weldonia

I also have an unmarked 110. It is absolutely the real thing. I got mine from a Buck dealer who was absolutely indignant that Buck would let a knife slip through inspection like that. I assured him I would let them know and I hurriedly replaced the knife with the 110 out of my sample case. That must have been in the late 70's.

Wkeating,

It is a very rare thing to find a 110 without a stamp. Since you live so close to the Buck plant, you might consider dropping by for a visit. I would love to take a look at the knife for you.
Take care,
