i just got a pilot survival, black, in the box, but the knife has no pommel stamp or tang stamp. did camillus ever do this, or did someone put a phony in a camillus box? box has 5377b maskings, and is brown and tan 2 piece. any help is appreciated. thanks!

Can you post a photograph? Does it have a black handle or blade? The markings "5377b" does not sound like a Camillus model number.

i'm sorry, 5733b on box. i'll post pic when i get home, but knife is same lenght as it should be, with 5" blade. metal is black coated, like a military contract knife. handle id unfinished stacked leather. thanks!

Upload the photos to an online photo-hosting website, like www.photobucket.com . Then copy the photo's location into your forum topic. It's free, and it's much easier than it sounds.

It looks right to me, but can't tell about the color of the metal, looks kinda black, maybe a dark finish. No tang stamps is a job for someone else, as all I can figure, is it got missed while in production.

it appears all correct, finish is flat black, handle is leather, size is correct. but, it is completely unmarked, pommel, tang. what years was this box used? thanks!

Looks like a Camillus. With no "Tang Stamp" it could be a factory second.
