What is your favorite unpopular knife? (Traditionals Only)

For me it is the Presidential. It is a great knife that never caught on. It's in my pocket right now.

I'm not sure I have the proper scope to determine if a knife is unpopular or not, but one that I don't hear enough about or see enough pictures of around lately is the Northwoods Burnside Jack (when I bought it I actually went back and forth between it and the presidential for quite some time - it still tempts me!)

Love this pattern. Feels so good in hand!

Sorry my picture isn't quite up to snuff compared to yours! :)

I don't see much on the Burnside, but they were pretty popular in their day.

I don't know that it is unpopular or just not on many folks radar, but the Moki Fish Owl is quite a high value knife IMO.

That Moki should be very popular. I don't know why it wasn't. It looks crazy useful.

At first I misunderstood this thread, I thought it was to give an opportunity to vent our spleen on knives we just don't like. Such as Ca......:D:D

But no! This thread's a great idea nonetheless, it's very interesting to think why some knives get almost uncritical worship whereas other fine patterns appear marginalized. Fashion, group behaviour? No matter.

I like the 56 Dogleg and do feel it's fallen from view to an extent. Just wish the same could've been said about your Northwoods Bullet, a fine carry that seems impossible to track down now!

In my opinion 10-15 year old Queen Congress are about as good a knife as it gets; considering fit / finish / action and not considering ranch usefulness. But they never really drew a crowd. Don't know if it was the size or the pattern.

I didn't know the Presidential is "unpopular". The ONLY turn off for me is the "unavoidable", acknowledged and widely reported blade rub.
Otherwise I like EVERYTHING about the Presidential and likely would have pulled the trigger on one, but I enjoy enough blade rub with the likes of oh say, Victorinox.
Could I live with blade rub on the Presidential? ... too expensive to find out.

I agree. I would actually take it a step further and almost all Congress patterns. For some reason they are not very popular. I carry a half congress regularly. Love, Love, Love it.

I don't know how unpopular they are, as I know that they're selling well at several dealers, but one knife that I'm really surprised hasn't gotten any attention here is the Queen Ruple Trapper. It's just the most beautiful knife I own, and it's put together dang near perfectly. It's F&F is better than any other production knife I've ever handled. I'm surprised that more people haven't picked one up.

I must have odd taste the Presidential is the only knife I've every bought a few minutes of its release, I thought they were going to be instantly gone, I kept a close eye on when it was going to be released, great patten I still do not have rub

And the Congress pattern is another favorite, but on a larger congress I prefer the blades be Sheepsfoot, Spear, Coping, Pen, smaller patterns I don't mind the double sheep, pen, combo, and medium versions are fine with two Sheepsfoot but like them to have a coping and pen as secondary blades. I think I have every possible combination of blades in my congress collection, it's definitely a favorite pattern for utility, but I think a cutlery outfit like Gec would have done a more versatile take on the pattern
Small versions the double sheep/pen blade works

Medium version with sheep,Spey, coping and pen

Medium with 2 sheep, coping and pen

Large sheep, spear, coping, pen

I had hoped when Gec did the 61 they would do a 4 different blade version, I think they did a nice job on the 62 courthouse whittler

Really surprised that this S&M half congress is not more popular.

Mike-I'll parlay your sentiments and say for the money I don't know why Queen/Schatt & Morgan seem to be shunned in general. I find them to be a great value. Keep hating them folks ;-) and I'll keep buying them.

Ya know, what the heck ... I just pulled the trigger on a Presidential. Fingers crossed ... the blades aren't too crossed Lol

A 4-blade congress is too much knife for a city-slicker like me.
But a 2-blade is just right!! Why carry around all that thickness and weight?
I can't think of when I needed more than two blades!

I have to admit, every time I visit that site I sneak a peak to so how many ebony Presidentials are still available :o

Looks like that blood red will be a nice one Brother Jim

Nice score there, Jim!

I think the Case Pocket Hunter is a really neat little pattern but I rarely see any pics or mention of them.
