Hello from the Pacific Northwest!

I experimented a bit with a Campanion at the kids' wood pile. Pried a few chips loose. Chopped through that log twice. My technique sux, so it took more chops than a competant woodcrafter would have done it with. But then the woocrafter might have brought an axe or maybe a kukri.

Still shaves. No chipping. Except from the wood, of course.

It's great that Camillus brought back the Becker line. I have an original Campanion in 1095, 1/4" thick, ugly gray epoxy paint, crude sheath. Had a tough time changing the rear tire on my venerable 650 Yamaha once so I used the Becker to saw through the bead. No damage, edge needed a touch-up. Five minutes and it was shaving sharp again. I keep it in the Jimmy in case I ever need to cut my way out (or in).
