Unscrewing the stand offs of a 3" xm-18

Got two xm-18s this week, both used. The second one came in today and is very dirty. The seller included a Hinderer takedown tool. I used it to unscrew the pivot and remove the blade so I could clean the knife. I went to unscrew the stand offs, and, well, I can't.

The bit that is in the tool when I unscrew it is too big to fit in the screws. None of my torx bits seem to be the right size either.

What bit should I be using to unscrew the stand offs? Is it a torx bit? Is it a hex bit? What size is it?

Thanks for any help.

I use an allen wrench, the size i couldn't tell ya, they usually come in an 8 piece set though and i use the second to last one in size.

Let me know if you can't find a bit to fit the tool.

Go easy when starting to back them out. It wasn't your knife so you don't know what's been done.
Just in case the prior owner used threadlock, IF they don't start right away - touch the tip of a soldering iron to the head just to loosen any TL if present.
Slow and easy. Enjoy!

Thanks again everyone! Got the knife taken apart, got it cleaned up, put back together and sharpened. The 1/16th bit did the trick! One of the three stand off screws is a bit stripped, so I'm going to contact Hinderer and see if I can order a replacement screw.

Great, glad it worked out. He is away right now but, drop Rob Orlando an email about the screw and He will get you fixed up.
They are on a well deserved R&R trip to MonkeyMuster in Az.
