I have a question for the INFIholics out there...

How many actually USE their Busse blades?

The reason I ask is this: every time I see one for sale or trade, it seems to me that they are LNIB, NIB, mint, or (in one case) "never even used to cut air".... There's a Satin Jack on E-Bay right now, like "That.... ;)

These are hard use knives. I'd just like to hear about what people actually USE them for...

I use mine for diving, fishing, gutting, cleaning, around the boat and any heavy duty chopping/cutting tasks (such as cutting limbs off of large bushes) around the house.

I use the fool outa mine,I usually have keepers and users.I have a SJ that I am carrying now that aint 3 months old and already it has been used to the smoothing point.

Hey, I resemble that remark!!

I use my Steel Heart, my Paul's, my Basic 9, and a couple of my Mean Streets.

A lot of them I buy with the intent of use, and just have not gotten into the situation where they are the "blade du jour".

I'm a moderate user, and have found that my SH and MS fit my needs.

If I were a bigger user (more frequent, not physically larger thank God...), I would have more pieces with love marks on them....

My mid- and large-size Busse blades get used for brush clearing. Don't ask my Assault Shaker what-all it's been into and through, because it's seen darn near everything. ;) Not always a pretty picture of knife usage, but that little AS never complains. It just keeps cuttin' & scrapin' & slicin' & slittin' & spreadin' & pryin' & dicin' like there ain't no tomorrow.

I buy all my Busses to be "users" because I know they'll take the beating and love it. Most of them are still virgin Safe Queens only because I haven't managed to kill my first Busse yet. So the others are still pouting & grumbling in the wings, waiting for their call to duty.

LNIB Busses could be like mine. They are spares that never saw action because the primary blade just wouldn't give up the ghost.

I think a lot of the Infiholics buy 2, one for a user and one
for a keeper. Then when something new strikes their fancey, they
sell their spare to finance the new one.;) And then again, I could
be TFOS!!!:D

I asked a similiar question several months ago and recieved
quite a response...however, all mine are safely tucked away
and will not be used, hypocrite that I am...I'm waiting for
the "next" generation of 1WHOBUYS and IdahoSkunk to come
into Busse lust...then I'm gonna sell 'em and retire in Infiland.

I've got users and keepers.

My current users are an AS, Basic 3, MS, BA-e, and ZT SH.

I've also got a couple keepers ;)

I only have one, sort of - the Apprentice (A2?) Badger.
I wouldn't mind another 1 or 12... but we Canucks pay about $1.50 for each of your U$, but get paid about the same in CA$. Basically Busses they cost about 50% more here...:(
That being said, I will try to find a Basic 7 for medium yard duty, branch chopping, etc. When I figure out what I have to trade, I'll get going.

Glad to see that there are at least 1/2 dozen or more actually being used. I assume too, that they are at least as tough as advertised?;)

Man, I got to figure out where some of these Forumites shop!!!

I looked in the Yellow Pages and could not find The Rare Discontinued Only 1 Made Discount Busse Knife Shoppe!!! I looked TWICE even...:D Anybody have the number?

ThatMguy, yes, the resemblance is striking, isn't it???;)

I've also got a few of both:D

Daily users are either a DW Mean Street, Police Recruit, or an Assault Shaker. All well used and abused:cool:
Uses? ...anything you can think of using a knife or small prying tool around a farm for:D They are indespensable IMO!

My BM and NO see occasional use, but my SH-e has seen a ton of field work (there's always something to dismantle or chop down where I work:cool:.), and it always is at my side during any outdoor trips.

I agree that most of us have bought two, one for using, and one for the safe. I`ve been selling off my unused ones to finance my daughters college education. The used and abused ones are`nt going anywhere!

Lets see those beater pics!!!!

I use all my Busses. The way I see it, if I ever need to sell one, I'll just send it in to the shop for a refurb, perhaps even a satin finish. To me, years of hard use and abuse are worth way more than the $65 fee for the refurb, and I'll only need to pay that if I decide to sell it.

I've got my own theory on why almost all Busses on the secondary market are NIB or LNIB. Because the sellers never used the Busses, they never saw their true beauty! :D

I'll try to get some hard-love pics up a bit later.
