Has anyone ever seen protruding pins and flat-ground bolsters on a 3-pin 110???

Here's an example -

What do you guys make of this???

Is this a factory knife?
"Non Factory" customization?- is my guess - :D
Looks kinda neat though! I prefer the beveled edges of the newer 110's though.

Is this a factory knife?

I asked first!!! :grumpy:

Grinding/sanding down the bolsters to get rid of the rounded edges would make it pretty thin... But that would explain the protruding pins (if they weren't sanded down too, that is)...

I dunno anything about it...not my work - I like pins to be almost invisible...

 ...wasn't me...I got a headache and a toothache and a ingrown toenail and a...a...did I say toothache??...and anyway...I can't sand nearly as flat around rivets like that...That's true craftsmanship if I ever see'd it...did I mention I need glasses real bad???...  :p

Dont worry, thats no variation. Looks like one that did not get finished or one that someone did in their garage. Personally, I kind of like the look but maybe would have gone with nickle silver for more of a contrast.

Oops My bad :D
I like the pins almost invisible also! (along with the beveled edges :D)

hay guys the nickel with brass pins is my idear now!!!:D

kinda ugly...but JMHO.

I prefer invisible or nearly invisible pins with rounded bolsters, but will settle for flat.

Well, it should be no surprise that this is an eBay auction item...(which just finished, so, IAW Forum rules, I can now post it)...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250059971683

What *is* surprising is the winning bid...

...$56.69!!!...

The Item Location says it is an antique shop...

"Olmost New Condition this knife has never been used other then handled and has never been sharpen the blade has no marks on it and still looks like new there are some very light marks on some of the brass from beingg handled"...

Jury's out on that unusual 110 for me Trax.
First thought is no.
But after a few beers and as the clock gets closer to closing time, things get prettier and I've been known to change my mind.
