It should be black or green. This one is brown? Doesn’t even look much like maroon? I believe it to be authentic, but why would the handle be brown micarta? Was that an option at one point? RMK shows two options and will not use maroon on full tang knives based on their website.

In my experience, green micarta tends to age into a brownish color over the years...could be what happened.

Googled cleaning micarta and, with a little soap and water, it is back to green.

Black Micarta comes in many colors and shades, only one of which is black...
