Anyone have any info on this 305? The knife is a bit unusual, at least given what I thought I knew about the making of these knives. The master blade has the long pull and the pivot pins are not at all visible. I thought the knives made by Camillus has visible pivot pins. Any ideas on when this was made?

Trust me they are there, Nickle silver bolsters and pins have a way of blending in really well together especially when they have been in your pocket for a while.

It's the very first'est 305. No model number, scale pins, Made in USA on tang, extra brass spacer. If Scharde ever made a 305 it was prototype as a whole bunch of people have never seen one. On all CC and Buck 300s , shine your bolster a little and blow your damp breath on it and the pin will show up.

Thanks for all of the info. There are no visible pivot pins. I did shine the bolsters and blow on them, as well as examining under 16X magnification. I have thousands of knives and I'm always able to find the pin even on well worn and well blended knives. This knife came from the estate of a very advanced collector and most of the knives were pre 1970. I was actually wondering whether this might be some type of Schrade proto.

Nope on proto., have couple of three jest like it. On the closeup photo you can just make out the hint of a pin, its right in line with the brass scale pin. Still a decent find. Lots of these have cracks in the scale at the bottom of the spring rivet. 300Bucks
