:D Picked up a couple of new knives recently, ones a 5OT completely customized by Herman Williams, who did custom work for Schrade for many years. His work, especially the filework, is outstanding. The other is a new Canal Street micarta custom folding hunter done for the North American Hunting Club. :

When I visited CS this sumer they were in the process of finishing up the order for the NAHC knife you have shown us. I only saw it from a distance as Dave was hovering around it. It looked about 5" and quite heafty.
Thanks for showing the picture.
Larry
Oh and the 5 it a real piece of art as most of Mr Williams work is.

that custom is beautiful!! looks sharp too!! man, i wish i had that kinda talent! i bought a cheap "china" knife to try my hand at, glad i didnt pay but $2 for it, i mauled it!!!

That 5OT is so great! Thanks for the pics of all sides Eric; it really shows what a comprehensive piece of art it is!

Art is definitely the right word for it. I wonder if this backspring work is what he was involved with at Schrade. The photo is from a Schrade special edition knife program catalog:

I know he also modified blades for special orders, such as blunt points for textile work, etc.

PS To anyone who caught the gigantic two million pixel image of the above photo before I edited it, I apologize for overloading your servers.

Irv,
I'll try to get a clearer picture up, that one has way too much glare. I've got to follow Waynorths example and save my pennies for a decent scanner.
Eric

OK Irv, here are a couple more, plus a bonus 1 of two trapper:

thawk,
It's a small Sony cybershot, I think it's 5 megapixel. The only thing I don't like is it doesn't have a mount for a tripod, I think that would help with clarity. I've always shot with a Nikon n90s, so this digital stuff is still new to me.You sure can't beat the instant results though!
Eric

Nice knives and nice pictures!! I really like that trapper. I wonder if they make a single blade version. Rick

Eric,
Also look as if your using a light box. Nice pictures of pretty knives.
Thanks
