Looks like a 301 that had a broken clip blade that someone reground to a sheepsfoot.

BJE you may have an idea there. I just bought the knife today, don't have it in hand yet. But will check to see if that's the case. Thanks for the idea. H H

Yes, that is the infamous Buck knife that drew thumb blood from a Buck.

It was sold to me, and Joe remembered the special order situation, as a special custom shop modification for a whittling club. Not many were made, maybe 50 or so. And yes, all that happened is they took a 2002 stamped 301 and ground on the clip, as per no nail nic, and made it into a sort of warcliff, look at the main blade tip, you can just see the curve of the original clip blade starting to turn. But, someone at Buck carefully sharpened them, I am not kidding. The closing snap on the 'lighter', shorter main blade was pretty strong and CJ's finger didn't get out of the way. It must have been use to the regular clip blade speed. Someone did have a Buck bandaid to give him......this all happened at the knife swap at the factory meeting last year. But, let me tell all you folks, be careful of fakes, I could pick up some 2002 301s and carefully grind away and call it a custom 301 whittling club special and you would not know the difference. I likely would not have bought it, there was no paperwork, I did have a couple of Bucks saying yes its real........Hump if you can ask the seller if he was in the whittling club, what about a box ?.........300

I got bit bad yesterday - I was opening a NOS Case 6392 I bought for some picture taking - I about took the end of my thumb off - so I can feel CJ's pain right now (just like it was yesterday!) Nice and unusual 301, another I was unaware of - hope you guys have a great Thanksgiving today. OH

Desert Chris that's a dollar you owe me! :D

That photo of a very very good sport was taken in CJ's father's clean as a whistle white operating theatre of a garage on a very wet and windy wonderful magic Summer's day in 2013.

Craig's cruel, out of control and wicked knife should probably be encased in solid Lucite, think "The Day The Earth Stood Still" with Michael Rennie, in order to keep out of harm's way. Yes, it should be.

And half a beer :D

LOL. You crack me up. Yes, and half a beer it is. Settled.

300buck's crazed and vicious knife knows no bounds. Even a skilled cutlery enthusiast, and he is that, cannot seem to pull the reins in on that demon of a threat to civilized folk and not even the CEO of its manufacturer. Shocking! I saw it at the 25th BCCI meet and I've been uneasy ever since.
