I'm not sure what anyone will be able to tell me about this, since I have no pictures and have lost touch with the owner, but....

A former teacher showed me a khukuri that had been given to him when he was stationed overseas. He was told that it was made from an old British rail road spike (the butt definitely looked like the top of a rail road spike). It looked like they forged the blade and then, before the thing cooled down, twisted the "handle" portion a couple of times. That's it, no handle other than the twisted body of the spike, so it probably wasn't a "using" knife. Has anyone else this type of knife?

Just curious.

Dave.
