Unusual Kiridashi-like knife

Even though I'm not a big fan of chisel ground knives, I find this one quite cool.
Made by the french maker Jean Paul Sire, it's basicly a kiridashi with a 2" double edged blade. Don't know what the steel and wood are.
J.P. Sire does very clean work and this one is no exception.
