Here are three "unusual" ones.

First, a Kephart HD (3/16") in customer supplied wood, with a scandi grind.

Next is a Kentucky Woodsman HD (3/16") in customer supplied wood, with a scandi grind.

Last is a Kentucky Fieldmate HD (3/16") in ironwood.

All three of those are OUTSTANDING looking!! I love the customer provided handle material :thumbup:

Great looking blades. I like them all but I'm a sucker for ironwood. I'd love to see a spine shot of the last one.

Very cool. That's got to be a serious cutter.

What wood is used on the first two? Love the small pins on them.

No clue, it looked to be spalted with all the lines in it. My favorite is the Ky Woodsman, it feels good in 3/16" stock.

Hi John -

Excellent work as always. I am a sucker for burl, as you know, and I am drooling at the dark burl wool on the Kephart and the K-W.

The spine shot you did for Mack reminds me of shots I have seen of the smaller Busse's (can't remember the model).

I wanted to ask you, have you ever heard of one of your knives being broken? I know it would have to be from abuse, but for the life of me, I can't see how you would ever break a JK. The reason I ask is another thread where someone was saying they did not want a carbon steel blade because he had seen posts on BF where carbon-steel knives had been broken.

Great pictures, by the way. The new camera is working out pretty well!

best regards -

Yes, I did hear of one being broken. About a year ago, there was a guy who went crazy on the W&SS Forum. He was bashing everyone, especially Busse. Being a fan of Busse knives, I joined in. Next thing you know, he was saying how he had one of my original Scout models, and he broke it cutting some sticks. I asked for proof, he said he just threw it away, it was total sh*t! Well, the truth is that I only ever made one of those, and the guy who owns it posted pics of it about a month ago. So, in reality, no, I have never heard of one being broken, chopped through bricks, yes, shot with a .45ACP, yes, broken, no. :D

john got the knifes super super job man they are nice thanks very much don b:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

shot with .45 ACP? Holy Solid Steel Survival!

Break a scout? C'moooon, I've held one of those in my hand & that's some thick beefy steel. On sticks???? Horse Puckey!

Nice blades, that wood looks really nice, very warm & earthy, so rich in color, almost caramelized.
