Unusual Leek - Buy It?

I found a pretty unusual (I've never seen one) Leek in the knife store and wanted to know if it would be worth buying. It's model number 1660GTST. Black G-10 handles, S30V blade, partially serrated. The price was $80. I really don't like serrations on a knife, but I figured I've never seen this model and it looks like it could become valuable. Should I buy it?

Only 128 of them were produced...I'd say it's worth it...;)

Ray :)

I would think if you didn't buy it, there will be a line forming quickly.

Sh*t! I'll be buying it tomorrow. As much as I don't like serrations, it sounds like a must-have. I'll hang on to it in case something comes up for trade that I REALLY want. Here comes my TiZDP Leek :D

Far out. No hits for 1660GTST on Google or GIS!

We demand pics! :D

I'll post pics when I buy it tomorrow.
As a side note, the "if it looks too good to be true, it probably isn't" thought comes to mind here. How hard would it be to get the parts (G-10 handle, partially serrated S30V blade) and mate them together, along with a bogus sticker on a Kershaw box? If I recall, there should be the exact model number on the blade itself, right? I didn't get to look at it that close, so I'm wondering if I should be checking the blade for a specific marking.

Clark knives by any chance? If so you better be darn lucky i am poor or it would be bye bye lol

Kendal needs to learn his Kershaw collection better, I wouldve already bought that as well. Darnit!

The first question out of my mouth every time I hit the door there..."Got any rare ones in?"

:/

So, Offsetlover, J Curd, and I all go to the same knife store? Cool. But no, it's not Cecil Clark Knife Works on Monmouth Street. Kendall's the man though.

Purpledc; I didn't buy it today (had to go in to work early) but I have it on hold with two nice, crisp $20 bills.

Three Kershaw fanatics in the same shop...

If he has ZDP Shallot by then I might have to call Vinnie so you two sleep with da fishes while I intercept the shipment.

I can meet up on Nov 1st at 11am. I work too much Mon-Fri...

I work Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 1pm until 7am. So, it'll have to be on a Tuesday or Wednesday, or on a work day before 1pm.

Yes, the 1st at 11am sounds wonderful. I'll be the bald white guy with lots of tattoos and an EOD bag. Offsetlover; you in?
I don't think Kendal has the ZDP Leeks in yet because I'm on that list too.
