I've got this 112 that features pins unlike any others I've seen.
Does anyone have any info or other examples like this?
Also, the steel spring has a brushed finish.
Additionally, the scales are probably not glued either so with the heads ground off, there's a chance the scales could be knocked off. Then the pins could come loose from the frame, then... Well, you get the idea. I wouldn't buy it like that unless I was planning a rescale.
I agree, someone has sanded it. This 112 is also radiused. Something Buck did during this time frame. These were hand sanded and the thumb depressed area was not radiused on the first ones. Which is like yours which identifies it with some history. Buck stopped gluing the wood slabs on in 1978. Your model is a 1982 mfg.. DM
Thanks for the responses. As far as I can discern, the scales are securely affixed (glued?). I've been carrying this one, in & out of the rotation , for a while now... Think I'll hold on to it.
