Unusual S2 Trident?

Hi guys. I havent posted here in a while, but I was looking through my knives the other day and came across my S2 that I have always been curious about. It has the lanyard hole at the bottom of the butt cap instead of the top along the spine of the knife where the rest of my SOG knives have it. I bought this knife new in the box a few years ago and has never been used or tampered with as long as I have owned it. Has anyone else seen one like this? Here are some pics.

That is one of the original models of the Trident. Nice find and it is a great knife.
 
Wow. No kidding? I always thought it was an odd ball because of the location of the hole. Now I'll have to dig out my old receipt to see what I paid for it. Thanks Chris.
 
Yes they did come in leather sheaths. But note that the condura/nylon sheaths were the first kind to be shipped with the Trident S2, as shown below.

Congrats on a nice old Seki Japan knife! :thumbup: Your knife's butt cap was probably fixed on the wrong direction and is unique in a way because it passed SOG QC!
