Unusual Schrade 33OT

I've had this Schrade middleman jack close on 35 years now The unusual thing with it is the threaded bolsters both ends. Would anyone have any idea of the rarity of this knife because I can't seem to find anything like it on the internet.View attachment 542071View attachment 542072

Probably be a good idea if you put up some pictures. Did you buy it from a retail store?
 
I don't know anything about a 33OT with slotted bolsters, but I'd love to see a picture of it. Perhaps there's a best-guess as to how your knife came about.
 
This is my un-finished 1984 SS34OT I payed $5 for, I thought it would be good for something.
Like Codger, It is the only bolsters I could think off too.

The 33OT Schrade I have must be a production error. If correct it has a 34OT body with 33OT blades. Thanks for your help and advise people.

Or likely either remaindered after production and need for warranty replacement knives ended. Or possibly an artifact of the last days of the Imperial Schrade factory between the July closing and the October auction where a small staff was kept on hand to assemble everything possible to fluff up the inventory for auction. "If it fits, assemble it". A factory error is possible but not as likely as the previous two scenarios, IMHO. Still a nice oddity.

Your statement above "I've had this Schrade middleman jack close on 35 years now" indicates the knife was made in the 1980's.
The Heritage knives with the Threaded Bolsters were made in 1983.
Therefor I would say your knife, was made around the same time [1983]
It looks like this mistake, has provided you with a nice [possible one-off] collectible knife.

I agree. Either a "lunchbox special" or a factory error. Nice, and perhaps unique. :thumbup:
 
Looks like we gots us here a psycho-billy middleman jack.

Speaking of lunch box specials, too bad it wasn't a '49, '50, '51, '52, '53, '54, '55, '56 '57, '58' 59'...... Wonder if they needed a special adapter kit to get them threaded bolsters on?:D
