Everytime I visit this forum I'm greeted with the most unwelcome message:

YOU ARE NOT A REGISTERED MEMBER

Then in fine print it askes you to sign in if you are a member.

I am member and have been for a long time and can't help but feel unwelcome everytime I read that message.

Wouldn't it be more welcoming to have a message that reads:

Welcome to Bladeforums
Members sign in here...
To join press here...

I hope to not offend anyone with this suggestion and I hope that we would want everyone to feel welcome and to grow the membership.

Sincerely,
Collecter

if you have cookies turned on you'll never see that unregistered message.

I don't think that's his question...

Even a registered user (Collecter... you're *not* a member, but you are a registered user) shouldn't see that message unless...

Next time you visit us after you read this, as you enter in your user name and password, click the box that says Remember Me. You can then jump into and out of BFC without needing to see that message or log back in.

If you clear your cookies, switch computers, or ever log out, you'll see that message each time unless you click the Remember Me box.

Logging Out clears the cookies even *if* you check the Remember Me box...(I just tried it)...

Sounds like you should close the browser instead of logging off. You don't get the message when logged in so if you are not on a public computer stay logged in. :)

If you are logged into BFC (you clicked Remember Me and did not Log Out) and still see that message you are going to the "wrong" URL. Try http://www.bladeforums.com instead. Note the www.

This solved everything for me.
