Just a quick question.
I've discovered that slip-joints aren't all considered "Traditional" (especially if I like them), and made my peace with that.

But then I make a sword, and post a link to the thread in General about it in the Sword Discussion forum, and the thread goes missing.
Is there an unwritten rule that swords must meet an arbitrary level of "Swordishness" to be allowed in there?
I thought that if I made a sword, designed as a sword, and called a sword, I could talk about it in the sword forum.

Am I just incredibly obtuse and missing something here? Did the 12 hour shift I just worked melt my brain, and there's a simple thing I'm missing here?

If you want an answer, you have to ask a question, like a question where we can figure out what is or was where. :)

A link, a link, my kingdom for a link!

There's a thread in General entitled "Behold Mjolnir..." http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1117362-Behold-Mjolnir
I made a thread in the Sword Discussion subforum called "I Made a Short Sword", in which I provided a link to the aforementioned thread, as I thought the sword enthusiasts might wish to see it, and thought that a huge copy & paste would be even more redundant.
There were a few positive comments in that thread (the one with the link), but when I looked for it tonight, it was gone.
This just seemed weird to me, and I saw nothing indicating it had been moved.

So, I'm basically just confused.

You probably should have put the whole thread in Swords in the first place, or Shop Talk as a WIP.

Frankly, we are not big on posting links in another forum to a main thread elsewhere. That gets out of hand in a hurry. People see it and double or triple post, linking and then seeing the link become a full thread in its own right.

Mostly we see it when someone posts a knife for sale and then posts a link in the manufacturer's forum advertising the sale. Not going to allow that.
