Hey. I've had this spyderco military for a month or 2 and it has developed a lot of up and down play. I first noticed it when I did a spyder drop with and and the blade did not lock. Now it is to the point where I am simply scared to use it. I've tightened the pivot but cannot get it to the point where there is no play and I can comfortably open it. I've contacted spyderco and if I can't find something to help this ill have to send it any. And suggestions?

Sounds like the lock simply needs a tweak to coax it to move in further behind the blade. Its not properly self correcting for wear in other words. My first guess would be that its spring tension is set too weak. However, the first thing I'd do is turn the stop pin a half turn so the blade is bumping on a new spot and see if that helps or fixes the problem. That is something you could do yourself by simply loosing the screws and then using a small tool to spin the stop. A Leatherman multi tool would probably work to simply spin that to a new position. Sometimes the blade being harder can develop a flat spot on the stop.

Other than this its probably a combo of both or the spring tension. Let Spyderco adjust that for you if you can't or have not done it yourself.
