up to date satellite images?

Can an average guy get those anywhere to check the weed/algae situation on a lake before actually going there? Week or two old would be just fine.

Google has been updating their satellite images this year, but unless you have the money to pay for satellite use your going to just find old stock photography. Call a bait/tackle shop that serves the area and ask them, probably better info anyways.
