Nothing much to do with knives, but those who are into training may want to attend our Tactical Week in Ft. Payne, AL in August. One week of hard core training including a day of land nav training, 2 days of Tac-Med taught by the legendary Hugh Coffee, and 2 days of tac rifle /carbine taught by SWAT team commander Chase Jenkins. CEUs and certifications will be issued. For more info: http://www.jungletraining.com/training.htm All participants will receive a RAT Cutlery RC-3 with special engraving...so there is some knife content to this thread :)

Wish I could make it, Hugh Coffee did a seminar near here in 1999, was well worth attending!

Hugh's probably one of the best when it comes to real down and dirty, life saving "ditch medicine." Not sure if you know much about his background (since he doesn't talk much about it) but he's been in a lot of conflict zones around the world pulling medic duty. Not only does he know his stuff, but he's just a soft-spoken, nice guy. So, like you said his classes are well worth the price of admission.

I am seriously thinking about this!

Any idea on ammo requirements - number of rounds required? As with most tac rifle courses, I'm sure there is need of a sidearm, and was wondering if there is any idea of round count for a sidearm as well?

Any special requirments/equipment for the medical portion?

Thanks.

I new a little, I've had Ditch Medicine in my library for years, it was one of the first books I bought to build an emergency medical library to build off of my EMT training.

Gruesome stuff, but very well written!

I'll get ammo requirements from the carbine class instructor. I'm sure there will be drills that will require pistol as well.

We just got all the instructors together on dates yesterday so we could get this thing up on the net, but there will be more info to follow.

Minimum 800 rounds carbine and 400 round pistol. Would rather everyone figure on 1000 rounds for the carbine and 400 rounds for pistol. Hearing and eye pro. The rest of the gear is up to the shooter. We would rather someone train like the will fight so any and all gear used on callouts, duty, etc. is what we want to see

What weapons are allowed? I am thinking about going but was wondering if there is a little more info to have in regards to the entire event.

We train with what we carry every day, so weapon choice is yours.
