I don't spend nearly as much time on this subforum as I used to, but, I honestly don't have many questions or observations or commentary to make on traditional knives these days... Thanks almost entirely to you guys. I've narrowed down my tastes considerably and have been introduced to a broad spectrum of knives that I would never have even given a sideways glance to otherwise. Generosity is abundant here and I want to add on to the pile!

So, I hereby offer up my most treasured knife, traditional or otherwise. A knife that has crossed borders and changed hands a number of times. A knife that is entirely unique and is basically the coolest thing ever. A knife that was gifted to me and it is time to gift it to someone else. A knife that was expertly hand-crafted by Esnyx and inexpertly patina'd by myself with some big lots mustard and a q-tip:

The Esnyx Proto Scout

THE RULES/QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE GIVEAWAY:
  • Must have been a member for at least 6 months
  • You must have at least 400 posts to your name
  • You must not intend to sell or trade the knife <- I'm very serious about this! Please abstain from entry if you think that would be what you would end up doing. This should go into using hands, or at least appreciative collector hands!
  • One entry per person, although commentary and other posts are welcome!

HOW TO WIN:
  • Make a post in this thread with an "I'm in" or something to that effect! That's all. If you want to share experiences you've had on this forum, your own personally most-treasured knives, pictures of your pets, whatever!

This giveaway will run until 12:01 AM June 16th, 2016 to give some of our traveling and/or less active (but still appreciated) members a chance to get in on it. The winner will be announced shortly after using a random number generator. Shipping is on me for USA, and an international winner would need to help me out a touch depending on what it would cost (I have $6.10 budgeted for shipping)

As for the title of this thread, one of the reasons I've been less active lately and also have been clearing out a lot of my collection is my new dog, Casina, who I have been spoiling absolutely rotten (although she doesn't know it):

Not an entry (I have too many knives already) but just wanted to say - what a sweet looking dog and  for Tetris tattoos!

She is basically the sweetest thing with four legs:

(Also, thank you! I don't even know if I'll get another tattoo; I like this one so much!)

Awesome giveaway and awesome dog mate but this is a non entry from me. I have been lucky with giveaways in the past and I was lucky enough to get Evans first ever full custom so I hope someone who hasn't handled his work gets the chance.

What a cracking forum this is.

That is a beautiful knife! I would love the opportunity to enter, but fall short of the post requirement. Nevertheless, thank you for doing this.

that is quite the knife there! although this is not an entry, I'd still like to thank you for the generosity and opportunity. good luck to all who enter. its very fun doing give aways!

My vote is Spoil her rotten she is worth it! Glad to here to you have a new friend! My definition of a dog is "LOVE" Congrats! Casina is a beautiful name BTW and fits well with her.

A very generous giveaway  Not an entry please, but good luck to everyone

I'm in, as that is a gorgeous knife! Gorgeous pup, too! If she ever needs a bath while you're in the Ohio area, get in touch. ;)

Very cool giveaway! Probably one of the best "prizes" I've seen watching this forum!

I too don't qualify to participate, just wanted to express how cool it is to give away such a treasure as that one!

This is not an entry.
I just wanted to thank you for your generosity, and what a beautiful dog!
(The knife ain't to shabby either!)

I'll take a chance on this one, I'll pay full shipping cost if win ofcourse.
Lovely dog, looks very sweet. I guess you're both lucky.

Mike

OK, I am in. Just a word of warning while playing tug of war with the knotted rope. If she starts to shake her head like my girls Doberman with the rope, watch out. that knot hurts a lot.
Beautiful pup, by the way.

My girl's Doberman, Midnight Blue McMuffin, guarding camp.

Wow! Great looking knife (and dog)! Very generous of you. I'm in!

If you decide to have a giveaway for the dog, I'll be in on that one too! lol

F yes I am in, I have been wanting a scout for a while now, and that one is a beauty. Traditional pattern, with modern scales... what's not to like. I will cherish the $&^t out of that knife. And a very generous GAW. I am puzzled why there are so many "non entry" posts, this is the best prize I have seen!

I'm in. I normally wouldn't "throw my hat in the ring" but I would like to tote that around.
