After scrubbing them up and letting them set overnight, color returned to the scales. Seems the scrubbing helped out some.

SAK, it was one of those kitchen sponge/pot scrubber things. Sponge on one side and scrubber on the other. I didn't even apply much pressure and only scrubbed till I thought the sno-seal was gone.

In the previous thread about the ongoing saga of the camillus scales I posted two photos of the scales after scrubbing them and even though the flash brightened them a bit, they had that bleached out look to them. The next day, they had darkened up.

Even if a remote possibility, I had given thought that the scrubber might remove material and held the scales under water when scrubbing them and kept the kitchen window open with good breeze blowing in. Then I rinsed them and wiped them dry and let them set for an hour or so.

Now, if someone experienced in working with micarta will chime in and give their opinion.................:D
