Knifeworks sent me this email. I didn't know Benchmade was procuring the sheaths? Anyway:

Update on the Doug Ritter RSK MK2 that you have pre ordered:

We have been informed by Benchmade that there is a delay on the arrival as expected. Due to the unforeseen in difficulties with the sheath. We are now expecting these around the end of February. We apologize about the delay and we appreciate your understanding.

It's a bummer, but I have enough knives to tide me over until then

Just got it myself. No biggie. Happens all the time with new knives.
I hope folks take it in stride and don't act like some folks in the DPx forum.
I did email Roger though and ask about his mention of Benchmade.
I think that was a typo.

Naw the group here seems a bit more... relaxed than some of the other folks  I feel the wait is worth it regardless. It is a bit like if Santa kept pushing Christmas back, the excitement just keeps building :D

The way I see it... we've been waiting on the BK-12 for years. What's another month?

IF I DON'T GET AN EXACT TIME OF DELIVERY I WILL GET MY LAWYER ON YOU SO FAST YOU WILL WISH YOU NEVER TRIED TO SELL ME SOMETHING I WANTED AND HAVE NO PATIENCE TO WAIT FOR!

I EXPECT FREEBIES TOO FOR THE EMOTIONAL TRAUMA OF HAVING TO WAIT FOR A PRODUCT THAT DIDN'T EXIST AND YOU WERE GRACIOUS ENOUGH TO MANUFACTURE AND PRODUCE!!!

I WEAR TWEED JACKETS!!!
BLARGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!

Like that sorta reaction?

Well, yeah, but the tweed threw me a little.

Got me too, tweed is too damn scratchy, now, silk, I likes me some silk.

Ritter/Becker Collab knife? When did this happen? First I heard about it? Got any pics? Whens the ordering date?:p

Moose

I ordered mine about five years ago.
I'm glad to see it'll be here soon.

Wait... maybe I dreamed that...

Exactly. Just a bunch of insane nonsense. Hence the tweed. No one really wears that stuff.

What does Benchmade have to do with this? Are they dealing with the sheath production down in Mexico? As I understand it, this is a Rowen-made blade.

I didn't even catch that! Good lord, how many companies does it take to make a knife? I feel there is a joke in there somewhere...

I assume that either the sheaths are sourced through Benchmade, like with the RSK3 (the sheath for that model looks sort of similar), or it was a typo that should have said Becker instead of Benchmade.

You know what? You may be right about Benchmade supplying the sheath.
I'll post back if I get a reply from Roger.

Knifeworks was fast on another email update! Saves us some confusion :)

THERE WAS AN ERROR IN THE PREVIOUS EMAIL!!!!!!!!
These were not produced by Benchmade!
The Doug Ritter RSK® Mk2 is made in the USA by Rowen Manufacturing

Nevermind, Knifeworks just sent out a correction email:

Just a little case of "Benchmade-on-the-brain."

BTW, I could do without the sheath until Feb. Just send me the knife now and I'll have my own sheath made by next month!

Thanks again to Mr. Ritter, Mr. Becker, Rowen Mfn., and Knifeworks for producing this great blade - I can't wait till it arrives!

i got to talk to Doug via Ethan while they were at SHOT show and got to ask in Ethan's word "where the eff is Bladite's knife Doug?" hee hee hee.

then i got to hear about the sheath, but they thought end of the month might happen. so it goes. all the little problems snowball.

when it comes, it will come. it will be perfect :) or else :)

Sorry about the confusion, everyone. Neither the sheath nor the knife is made by Benchmade. Thank's for your understanding and patience.

Looking forward to it, Doug. How long have YOU been waiting now? :D
