Alright so I've handled all the listed models, but that's about it. I'm on the fence to buying one so if you had to pick one to start, which would you pick? I prefer larger folders with my XL hands. I use my EDC folders for cutting fruit, regular office chores, cardboard and zip ties.
 
Juat FYI dont use "regular sebenza 21" as it is contradictory. Either use "sebenza 21" or "regular sebenza". If you meant the plain version just call it sebenza 21 or plain jane 21
 
Large 21 Sebenza, It's the iconic CRK that everyone should have for their first.
Now, which one is purely a personal choice. Personally, I like the micarta inlays.
 
Large 21 with double thumb studs. I prefer plain with no micarta but you won't go wrong with the micarta inlays!
 
Large plain jane 21 for a first CRK. I think every new owner should experience simplicity at it's finest. Breaking it down and getting to know it will prepare you for all future CRK's.

I would have gone with large 21 wilson combat. Has best of all worlds: double silver studs, plain jane feel but a bit more special
 
Umnumzaan is my favorite. Then 25 or Inkosi (they are almost the same except for clip location). 21 would be last. I have or have had them all.

All else equal, I'd agree. But I rarely see wilson combat sebes for sale on the used market, and I do see the standard 21s available more often, so he can get a better deal into a plain 21. Then the wilson combat can be his second sebenza :) But really both are such great knives!
 
Double thumbstuds are the feature that makes a lefty like me carry my Inkosi the most over all others. (My Crks are righty knives)

Honestly I'm abit disappointed CRK hasn't upgraded all their knives to come with double studs standard.
 
Inkosi or Zaan. If based on your listed usage, I may prefer the Inkosi Insingo above all else.
 
For your EDC tasks I say the large insingo 21. It excels at cutting fruit, slicing, etc. It was my first and one of my favorites.

Well I found a mint Large Insingo with micarta inlays for a killer price locally. I'll be picking it up tomorrow!

Found this an hour away! Very pleased, and for what I think was a solid deal ($380)



Birthday is 06/30/2015. So far very pleased. Love the Insingo
