OK. Sick Monday, then just no good excuse, but here is my weekly update.
Lots of blades ground. 3 Ladyfingers for the run completed. One Woodsman and two Bushcrafters for the run done. 3 knives in process for to send off for adventure. Those are a Woodsman, Bushie, and EDC. All will be spectacular, done up in stabalized crotch woods, and layered beautifully. I have finished one of the two Nessmuks on the bench this week. The buyer had asked for a black over red handle. I chose EIRW over Paduk, and though I have done this same combo the other way before, it is spectacular this way too. Pics tomorrow. I have knives to make for another special voyage soon too. Those are fun.
Are any of you near Las Vegas? I am going to be attending the Las Vegas Gathering of the USN folk on Labor Day of this year. I feel honored to have been offered a table there. USN is a damn fine forum, and cool place to hang out and I've met a lots of fine folk from there at Blade, so I'm excited. It will be show #2 for me. What a newb. If any of you are going to attend, or live nearby, I'd love to meet up!
Pics..............
These first two are pics of Osage all cut up into liners:
This is some crazy ass dyed stabalized curly Maple that I picked up at Blade. Goin adventurin.
Oh sweet as Bow Legged Belt Knife in nat can mic over blk can mic:
EDC. Stabalized crotch Cherry over Wenge. Whoa! Adventure city.
3 batches of blades in pre-HT states. I ground all these yesterday. HT'd the first 5 of them today.:
Still a few to grind. Add 3 runts to that pile...
And I'm getting behind shaping the handles. It took me 4 hours of filing and sanding to get that Nessmuk's handle right. 4 hours. I HT'd knives too. But still it took half a day.
