My Manix 2 s110v pre order on knifeworks was placed tonight and I was billed immediately after. The only other time I had pre ordered from them, I was billed when they were getting closer to the release date.

Does anyone know if they are going to be shipping soon?

I have a pre-order in as well. They've already been 'released' though. Your best bet would probably be to call them.
 
Update: knifeworks does not have an expected date of them even Receiving the knife from Spyderco, as per my phone call with a knifeworks rep at 1:35...

Back to waiting and twiddling my thumbs I suppose...
 
I think they place a temporary hold on your credit card in the amount of the pre-order. That could seem like billing. I've had a pre-order in for one for a couple of months. Guess we just have to be patient.
 
Thanks for the update. I kinda like getting billed now b/c I use my Paypal debit card a otherwise I forget and think I have more money to spend than I really do.
 
I pre-ordered May 6, 2014 and have already paid for the knife that I don't know is really coming anytime soon.
 
It would be nice if one of the reps from spyderco could chime in and at least give us an idea as to what is going on with and dare I say, an estimated time frame on one of their more anticipated (re)releases...
 
Indeed it would be nice of them. However I submit that if they made an estimate, and it was wrong, people would begin to whine. Remember that when they're not posting here, they're doing their actual job so that more knives can be produced. It's a production knife, you will be able to get one, you just may have to wait if you want it for the best possible price. You can buy one right now online, but it's not at bargain basement pricing.
 
I am not complaining that they do not have a presence on here, they do. More to the point they have people in positions to specifically deal with public relations, coincidentally that is also the majority of their job title. PR people do not make knives for a Major brand like Spyderco, maybe if they are that would explain the delay, but I digress...

I don't want to know a set do or die date, just someone to say something along the lines of, hey we just made the native 5 in s110v and honestly we make more $ per unit and we should ramp up production around October. Something honest, sincere, even if it was short and curt.

There are a lot of people waiting for this knife, and yes they can buy it for an inflated price, but we Choose to wait for the price, Spyderco gets the same amount in their pocket since it is the 3rd party who raise the price due to demand, so I feel that Spyderco should be open with customers who are waiting.
In all likelihood there are more people waiting for the manix 2 lw over the native primarily due to the price point.
 
I had a pre-order back in May for the same knife, but I don't remember them charging me. Are you sure it wasn't a test charge that gets reversed just to make sure the card works?
 
Sorry, I was on lunch when I posted the update and had forgotten to include that. She said that it was a hold that was placed, and that I was Not charged, though I may be around the end of the month.

Darn. Got all excited when I saw this, canceled my pending order for the s30v model, and ordered the s110v version. Oh, well. I am now in line with everyone else.
 
You can find a s30v in the exchange for relatively cheap in lnib condition
 
Don't know about everyone else but they 'refunded' their 'authorization' charge to my Paypal card this morning. Now I have to make sure I have at least $106.95 in there...
