So, I just recently received a BK2 in a trade from TenTool (I cannot thank you enough buddy!!!!!) and I must say, I am really impressed with this little guy...Normally, I am the guy that sees a 0.25" stock and a knife and think 'why would anyone need that?!'. It seems that everyone clammers for the thick, indestructible knives when they head out to the forest now, right? Well, now I understand why everyone responds with 'get a BK2, nuff said' in the survival knife threads we see on a day-to-day basis here; the BK2 rocks.

I headed out to see what this knife could do in the yard today (since I could not make it up to the mountains this weekend). My camera died before I could finish taking all of the pics I wanted to today, so more will follow soon!!

New and in her glory before the fun begins:

I started with some battoning

I did some chopping for a minute or so just to get an idea of how it did. (this wood was HARD, I also did some smaller branches with wayyyy better results, but I found them after my camera died...darn...)

Showimg my Becker Pride :) (I would have done the ampersand, but it was too difficult to make properly, I hope the + will be good enough! :D )

Anyway, I love this thing and I am glad I traded for it!! My BK14 comes in Wednesday and there will be some fun with that as well!!
The BK2 exceeded my expectations, I hope that I can take it with me on my trip to Arizona with my Senior Field Studies course!

As said before, more pics to come...be patient

Thanks for reading, I hope you enjoyed it,

Nice score and way to break it in. It's "Arizona" you can carry an AR-15 slung on your back here, or a Samurai sword..... oh yeah and the BK2.

I have not had a chance to break my BK2 in yet, do you find that the black finish wears off/scratches up easily with some hefty work?

Thank you for the kind words!!

The finish comes of somewhat easily. There is some wear here and there from what I did today, but it isn't much. I can take some pics tomorrow for you if I remember!

Yeah the finish comes off pretty easy in the wear spots, but I like how it looks. When it gets worn off I strip them usually.
Here is my 9 after lots of heavy use all winter splitting wood for the fireplace.

This is my 2 after the first use about what you see in the pic.

The word is that soon the Beckers will have a new tougher coating but Im not sure if that is good or not lol.

^^That is basically what mine is like.

And I hear ya on the coating, I am not sure if it is good or bad either :dejection: :p

Any ideas on what I should do to my 14??? When it gets here, I may want to strip it. etch it and then wrap it until the new handles come...hmm...so many options!! :D

Hmmm well I couldnt decide either soooooooo
I polished one
