So, I just recently received a BK2 in a trade from TenTool (I cannot thank you enough buddy!!!!!) and I must say, I am really impressed with this little guy...Normally, I am the guy that sees a 0.25" stock and a knife and think 'why would anyone need that?!'. It seems that everyone clammers for the thick, indestructible knives when they head out to the forest now, right? Well, now I understand why everyone responds with 'get a BK2, nuff said' in the survival knife threads we see on a day-to-day basis here; the BK2 rocks.
I headed out to see what this knife could do in the yard today (since I could not make it up to the mountains this weekend). My camera died before I could finish taking all of the pics I wanted to today, so more will follow soon!!
New and in her glory before the fun begins:
I started with some battoning
I did some chopping for a minute or so just to get an idea of how it did. (this wood was HARD, I also did some smaller branches with wayyyy better results, but I found them after my camera died...darn...)
Showimg my Becker Pride
(I would have done the ampersand, but it was too difficult to make properly, I hope the + will be good enough!
)
Anyway, I love this thing and I am glad I traded for it!! My BK14 comes in Wednesday and there will be some fun with that as well!!
The BK2 exceeded my expectations, I hope that I can take it with me on my trip to Arizona with my Senior Field Studies course!
As said before, more pics to come...be patient
Thanks for reading, I hope you enjoyed it,
-Deadfall
More pics for you guys
One swing
Three swings!
Three for the other
Battoning of course...
To show that the BK2 is not just capable of just hacking and splitting, I made some feathersticks
This one was horrible...
Better...
It even helped me make my paracord!
There ya go Becker boys and girls, the newest member of my family!
