Update on a fixed blade Salt?

It's still in R&D. We'll let you know when it's a bit closer.

ooooh. Even though spyderco fixed blades are few and far between ive only ever heard good things about them.

Cant wait to see a fixed salt. I had to buy an BM H20 recently due to time constraints and RSR's stock. I would love a fixed salt since nothing spyderco has produced has disappointed me.

Mine is another vote for a fixed-blade Salt. I hope for a few features that would meet my personal preferences. (I know, I know, they're not making the knife for YOU, Jeff!)

- option for plain edge only
- handle scales are removable (Torx screws, I guess?)
- option for black or bright yellow handle scales
- no recurve in the blade geometry
- flat ground, moderately thick blade
- blade length at least 4.5 - 5 inches
- some degree of pointy tip -- either spear point or modified Wharncliffe
- really good sheath, nice and tight with no rattle, obviously suited for water using kydex or other plastic
- lanyard hole

Well, at least now you know what I'll be hoping for... :)

Several exciting new fixed blades are slowly coming down the Spyderco pipe...good to hear one might be H1.

Peacefuljeffrey, I like your list. I know they are out of vogue, but I would add a decent crossguard. I want a little more than faith and four fingers to prevent my hand from slipping onto the blade.

Your list is just about perfect. It would basically make it the dive knife I cant seem to find. I'd buy 5 if thats what was released.

I've been asking Spyderco to make a dive knife for years. A FB Salt would likely be the ultimate dive knife.
