Well we made it home about a hour and a half ago. Andrew is resting comfortably in my comfy chair and is very glad to be home. He was released from the hospital this morning and then we had to go to a Oral Surgeon in Columbus where it was discovered that he had a broken Pallet and several fractures in his jaw and needed another surgery to repair the pallet and to fix the jaw and place screws into his jaw to hold the teeth into place and then had his mouth rubber banded shut for the next four weeks. This was very concerning to Andrew as he was due to have his braces off in three weeks. Not to be I guess.
It was a long drive home with many traffic delays but Andrew rested in my arms most comfortably. THe thing that tore me up the most is when he said "Dad I am so glad that this happened to me rather than you" ....To wit I replied while gulping back tears..." Well Bud,,,some day we will debate that"
So I am very thankful to have my son alive and healing at home. I am also very touched by the visit of Barb to our hospital room and the prayers and well wishes and PMs from everybody in this forum. I count you as friends and thank you all...I will keep you updated..
