I thought everyone might like to see pics of the high grade mother of pearl that just showed up.

Special thanks to Jason & everyone @ Culppeper & Company for all their help with these. Fresh cut, they hand selected these scales. These were graded A+, but the sure look like presentation/exhibition grade to me. My camera sucks, pics don't do it justice. .155" thick

The commemorative knife is 7.5" overall, the blade length is 3.4". This steel is D2, most of the knives will come out in 1095.

Everyone's all paid up, orders have been placed & the first set I'll post in this gallery starting the beginning of next week. I'll show this finished piece with the first set going out for comparison, this will be my every day carry knife, going forward.
This is just a sneak preview of where we're going. Full disclosure next week, on the finished product. I had to get my act together with some "Marking Material" & think we got that all worked out.

Thanks for everyone's participation & patience commemorating such a great day for our country.

Looking good!
you're going to have a VERY nice carry blade when those are shaped.
what are you going to use for scales on the rest of the blades?
(since 50 sets of A+ MoP scales would cost a short fortune)

wow that looks great, I can't wait. Either have to have a custom sheath made or try my hand at making my own.

Handles are going to be Black/Micarta for everything else.
Thanks Erik.
You guys are just as motivating! Glad we're all on board this ship.

Sweet, this is just what I would have dreamed it would be. Perfect knife for lots of daily use. I am looking forward to seeing it in the flesh!
Thanks a million!!!

Oh man, so nice! Handle design seems ideal! Maybe we can get get a group buy on sheaths from someone haha.

Guys, I have been sweating some serious bullets, drilling out/shaping that beautiful Mother of Pearl.
I'm almost done w/ it, spending ALOT of extra time, just "thinking" about how every little detail should be....

In another day or two, I'll post pics of the completed blade. You guys are cool, thanks, glad I posted this.

This might not be a bad idea actualy. With at least 50 (and I think maybe more) people getting one of these great knives I am sure a number of them are going to be out looking for a sheath. I would imagine one of the sheath makers here would be willing to do something.

Do you have a design for the logo on the knife yet? Twin towers, SEAL logo, picture of the dog's head? Perhaps "Operation Infinite Justice" as it was once called? Do you have an etcher? If not, I'll make and send you one. I'd also be willing to send some money to Ernie towards the stencil if you are going to have one made.

The sheath would probably be a nice place to have some of the special artwork done that goes with the sentiment of the project. I too would ask if there is a sheathmeister out there who might want to take it on to make themselves known so we could truly keep this a "commemerative" issue. Thanks BadBoy!
