Well friends, my friend is now settled in in her new home for the next several months. She e-mailed me today and told me that her care package arrived safely.
PorcupineMtn, she asked me to thank you again for the bleeder pouches. One is now on her web gear, and the other is now with an Army medic that has just been reassigned to a combat unit. I pray he will never have to use the pouch for its intended use, but if he does, the items inside will be easily at hand.
The billeting there is interesting to say the least, a bunker just outside of each door.
I haven't seen something like that since Beirut in 1982.
Well guys, thank you for the prayers and thoughts for OUR people over there. Just as a side note, Coca Cola, Pepsi, Mtn. Dew, etc. from stateside is worth its weight in gold over there. It is a taste of home, and besides, Asian/Middle Eastern sodas will make you feel like you have a Giardia infection. If you know someone who is deployed over there, send him or her a little taste of home. USPS flat rate priority mailers only take a week or so to arrive in theater. My package I sent weighed 13.5 lbs, and withinsurance only cost $14.70 to ship.
Thanks Again, Kelly

Glad to here she's ok!

My prayers are with her and our other brave soldiers that are busting their humps all over the world.

Glad I could help out and thanks for the update. Tell her she as well as all our troops are prayed for daily by many. I hope the pouches never get use.
