I saw this while perusing their website. I know they come up fairly frequently on the forums- for good reason! Every Hess I’ve seen has had phenomenal quality built into it. I’m so happy to see that they are doing well enough to return to stocking inventory, truly one of the best traditional style fixed blade makers left!

Very satisfying news and been really impressed with the Mini Caper I've had for years.
Good luck to them

Glad to hear this, I like their line, I think they are on the same level as Bark river when Barkies are done right. I thought at one point they did make some for Bark river, or are Hess knives related to those who made Marbles before Marbles changed to Chinese production?

It's not that Hess is stocking knives. The ordering system wasn't panning out I suppose.

I don't know if Hess is only working a little or if they are just very backlogged, but I've had one on order since January and it's been a bit of an odd transaction with Hess. The two weeks stated by the website is pushing three months. A mean a delay would seem normal but it's well beyond a little delay. Nothing against the website, he has been nothing but great responding to emails and trying to figure out what is going on.

That is my understanding of why the website is changing the ordering system... To prevent this from happening. I guess it was an ongoing issue

Any updates on Hess availability? I have left two emails with UPAuthentic (their distributor) but haven't heard back yet.

I had been on the verge of ordering a Hess before my sojourn from here. Now that I'm back, I recently checked that site & saw the message. Guess my no(-knife)-purchase streak will remain intact for a while longer

There's no way to order from them that I'm aware of. If anyone knows different, please advise.

I'd love a stacked leather Tiburon...

When Don Hess turned the business over to his son, Andy, production slowed significantly. If I remember correctly, I think Andy has a full-time job outside of knifemaking. The last couple of Hess knives I purchased took two or the months. I believe they were waiting on the sheaths, and Bill from UPA was having some issues reaching Andy. The knives did eventually ship though, and the quality was just as nice as the knife I previously purchased from Don.

I hope they make a return. They could raise the price 20% and they’d still be a great value.

I hope they return too. I have contacted the site twice, but no one has responded. The first time was months ago. The knives they make are top quality. I've never read any complaints about them. The look is classic.I hope all is well with them.
