Dawn from kershaw called me today to ask me if it was ok to send me a new one instead of replacing the blade on my new defective one!!!

....Kudos to Dawn!!!!!! thats great customer service!!! :D

So now that you're getting a new one, what are you going to do with the defective one? I could take it off your hands for a while:D . Hey, I tried:) .

I just got a rainbow Leek last week and I love it. They are nice. Knowing that they have great customer service makes it all the more better. My wife liked it so much I have to get her one now:rolleyes:

Yup, Ive noticed Kershaw to be good, ever since I emailed them regarding my broken tension bar in my chive with a picture included to back up statement.

They replied with this:

We apologize for the difficulty you are experiencing with our product. We will gladly send you a new torsion bar for your knife. We will mail it the address you included in your email. If you have any questions please call us at
1-800-325-2891.
Sincerely,

I am now still waiting to recieve it.:)

Gee, and all the flack I got for wanting the same thing from Benchmade. Everybody said that no other knife companies would send parts, so why make a big deal about Benchmade. For the record, you can get parts from Chris Reeve, Emerson, and now Kershaw to name a few. Again, for the record, I love Benchmade knives, just not their stubborn warranty.

It arrived today.:)

They even included two "1600 Opening Springs".

Seem to be good to me, hope everyone else experienced the same service I have.

Here's an image if you want to see, just taking advantage of gold membership.

I've had experiences with customer service from Benchmade, Spyderco, Cold Steel and Kershaw. Kershaw wins hands down.

I was looking for another knife for my wife for work. As I was showing her some of the pictures of the various knives I had collected for her to look at as soon as the Rainbow Leek poped up she got a big smile on her face and I just said "O.K. shall I will order it today then?" That was the fastest and easiest shopping for her I have ever done. The Rainbow Leek has great girl appeal and not too shabby for the guys either. :)

I hope you can get one ok, many stores have them backordered lately.

Mike, Benchmade has sent me parts before.

What kind of parts? Screws or clips? Those don't require dissasembly to install, and yes I know they will send those. I would be very surprised if anything else because there has been numerous threads (one heated one very recently) where people bi+ched about BM not sending simple things like new washers, omega springs, or even a back spacer. If you have gotten them to send you anything that requires disassembly of the knife, then you must have some good connections.

The reason for my comment was because Kershaw obviously sent something that requires disassembly to install, and on the heated post I referred to, I was told that I was expecting too much of Benchmade since no other company would send parts either. I have since found that Chris Reeve, Emerson, and Kershaw will send parts, but Benchmade will not.

sounds like you have a bad experience, they sent me screws, it was for my clip though. Kershaw does have outstanding service though! they have sent me several parts in the past, clips, screws, replacement torsion bar, ect.

No bad experience. That is the kind of parts I knew they would send you. I was referring to parts integral to knife function such as washers, omega springs, or rear spacer (to replace the defective ones they installed on some of their knives). Benchmade won't even sell you any of those parts if you offer to pay for them. That is what I was talking about. Screws to the handle slabs or clip can be sent because you don't have to disassemble the knife to put the screws in. I'll point you to this thread so you can get a good idea of what the real issue is. It's a long one, but it shows why I made my initial comment on Kershaw's CS compared to BM's.
