Emailed all the particulars of my troubles to CRK last night. Today I got a call from Chris Reeve himself. I can now tell you from personal experience that he is a man who takes the quality of his products and customer service *seriously*. Thanks all who encouraged me to give CRK a chance to do their thing.

So my Mnandi went back today for replacement. Chris even called back shortly after our first conversation and offered to let me use his FedEx shipper number to ship my package back -- however by then it had already been picked up (one of our normal scheduled pickups each day at work).

So no, I don't think any of you need to concern yourself about the quality of the Mnandi or of any other product coming out of CRK. If there is a problem, Chris makes darn sure it gets taken care of - and he takes it very personally that there was a problem in the first place. If my replacement Mnandi is as good as the service, then it will be very good indeed.

Not surprised at all... :) after spending a couple of days with Chris in New York behind his table I can say that quality is what he is driven by. He wants His products to be known for nothing but QUALITY and will fix what is wrong.

I am glad to here your problem is being resolved. I am afraid to buy from anyone else.

Everyone at CRK is great to talk to. I'm sure Chris will make your Mnandi as perfect as his other knives.

Hello, In sixtys jargon........Like no Dah man whad yah expect from the Man. In all seriousness I think they would bend over backwards to help any customer with a product related problem....or any problem regarding their fine goods.

But even if you had not posted your problems with it on bladeforums, Chris or a representative of CRK would have made good immediatly. They sure are nice folks and don't mind going out of there way for a customer's needs. Cya , JC

Zerogee Thanks for the prompt update! I don't believe anyone expected anything less from Chris Reeve.:)

If you had had any other result I would have been surpised. As it is, the service you received is exactly what I have come to expect from this fine company.

I really didn't post to try to force anyone's hand. I posted partly out of frustration and partly out of ignorance. Had I had any experience with CRK before, I never would have bothered to bring the subject up.

CRK has such a relentless reputation for quality products that I had never even seen anyone ask the question "what happens when I have a problem with my new Chris Reeve knife?" - never mind getting an answer to it -- until I started the thread on my Mnandi. Many of you have no doubt found out the hard way: a guarantee is only as good as the people who stand behind it. A guarantee is meaningless until it is validated by action -- which CRK most certainly does.
