I posted a while back when I was thinking about cutting the Kraton off of my Peace Keeper I and rehandling it. Well, I went through with it, and now the handle itself looks pretty cool. I took 16 gauge galvanized steel wire and wrapped the tang, and then did a Japanese-looking wrap over it with black paracord. It's amateurish, but I'm an amateur, so it's okay. The main thing I'm looking for now is a guard. The wraps on the knife right now aren't permanent, just giving me an idea of what it'll look like done. I'm looking for a guard a bit like that on the CS Tai Pan, a sort of oval guard with a crown (?) that makes it thicker on top of the grip. Stainless or nickel would be ideal. If anyone knows where I could get something like that, I'd be very grateful. I'd also like some stainless wire; galvanized darkens with age and I don't want that. Now, if I could figure out how to post a picture, we'd be set. Until then, here's a link. http://photos.yahoo.com/ashaman246 , starting with pic 7. I'd appreciate any and all input. Thanks!
