Master Kami Bura is continuing to experience problems with his recent illness.
If he is able to return to the shop, he will teach the young Kamis to make
quality knives and swords.

The shop foreman had a bike accident that left him injured. He is young and
strong so I expect him to recover sufficiently to do his job soon.

Our old Kami, Sher the the (tiger) Get (changa), Murali and scabbard maker Pralad, left shop few months back retired from the shop and we sorely miss
them.
Right now, due to the recent illnesses, injuries and natural retirement, our
shop production is very slow. I am not getting my shipments in a timely
manner due to the loss of so many craftsmen and the unstable political conditions and unrest in Nepal.

My father is traveling to other villages in order to hire some new workers to
get our production back on track. Sadly, I have to announce that your
specail orders will be delayed until I get some new workers.

This is the roughest time I've ever had with the shops in 23 years. I thank
you all for your support and patience.

I hope that the issue is able to be resolved quickly so that it is one less worry for you to think about.

Thank you for the update, Auntie.
Continued smoke and prayer for Bura, Pradip and H.I. in general.
Of course you, know we will help in any way possible.

Yangdu, thank you for the continuing updates involving Himalayan Imports. It has certainly been a difficult time with individuals leaving, illness and accidents. I hope that Kami Sherpa can find the people needed so that HI can continue the good works that are its foundation. As Karda said, if any help on our part is needed then let us know. My good thoughts and prayers for all involved with HI are continuing.

Rick

Many good thoughts and prayers. I hope that this gets resolved and that you have continued success in the future for HI and the people of Nepal.

Thoughts and prayers out for Bura and Pradip. When it rains, it pours. We'll weather through it with you.

Smoke up for HI and the kamis. Such is life, and things will work out sooner than later I'm sure. You have your loyal and understanding customer base if you need us.

If there is anything we can do at all, please let us know.

Sorry to hear of continuing troubles, Yangdu, I know you've been having more than your fair share lately.

Smoke up.

I'm sure you'll be able to hire some more people: for the same reason that times are so tough, there must be kamis looking for work.

They say that when it rains, it pours, but rain stops eventually. And Steely's right: we'll still be here for the company. In many ways, HI and its customers are a cooperative effort.

As I have told you on the phone, my one special order can be canceled to ease things for now. I will simply wait until things settle down for you and support you by purchasing the other things on my want list. I hope things work out for you Yangdu, I know personally that it is hard to run a business and can only imagine how much hard it is when the production part is so far away from the distribution. If there is anything I personally can do to help, you have but to ask me and I will do it. I don't do much else through the day so I can certainly lend a hand if possible for me to do here in Indiana.

You have my continued support and prayers.

Hope you are able to find kamis of sufficient talent to meet H.I.'s standards.
Better to wait than to compromise.

It will work out, Yangdu.

We are thinking positive thoughts and hoping everyone heals and is better soon.

Mark and Holly

Sorry to hear of the difficulties. Hopefully, this *temporary* difficulty will turn out to be an opportunity for a talented young kami or two. :D
