Update on the TSA airline carry rule

I heard that yesterday. It's a disappointment and one of the many reasons I drive or take a train, whenever I can.

If I fly I put my edc in checked luggage. Thankfully I've yet to have a problem doing that.

I'll leave the politics of it to a more appropriate forum.

I never had a doubt that it would be shouted down. My own "Republican" senior senator lobbied hard to deny us carrying small knives on planes too. Some Alaskan she is!:barf:

I think I just died a little, inside.:(

Again, not too surprising, but I had held out a little hope, nonetheless.

Knew this wouldn't fly (pun intended). As they say, common sense ain't so common any more.

At the risk of being shouted down here (and I love knives), at least they are responding to an actual threat, the planes were hijacked by men carrying small knives.
Makes more sense than Sea World taking my tiny SAK. I even had to give it up at a hospital! What is the point of that? And then they gave it back the next day in
the middle of the hospital in an office. So I could then just walk around the hospital with it. I don't get it.

This thread needs to be moved to Wine and Cheese so I can use the type of language that this story deserves.

That sucks. I just finished heat treating the blade of a new knife that I thought was TSA legal. I went though a lot of trouble to make sure it fit the criteria but now it is just a small jack knife.
