All sorts of stuff!

I haven't been posting many photos lately because I have been having a hard time getting decent photos outside. The light just isn't there!

I have been looking in to it and will be getting a light box for photos, they are really inexpensive and hopefully I will be getting some decent photos back up again! :D I bought some lamps and bulbs yesterday and will have a box in soon!

I just wanted to let you guys know what is going on, I have taken hundreds of photos this week and they just aren't cutting it.

I'm going to finish the kiridashis really soon, the high yesterday was 6F and I need it to be a bit warmer to drill the sheaths out, they are molded up though. I'll make them in my kitchen if I have to!

We are supposed to start my new shop tomorrow or the next day so I am very excited about that! There were a few delays but it is supposed to be nice all week, the contractor is buying the materials today. He builds a ton of small buildings and is building it for a fair bit less than my material cost so that is awesome!

After the kiridashis are finished up I am doing a custom order run then the "Legal EDC's". After that more customs then a tanto neck knife run in A2 steel. They will be based on my latest tanto in Damascus and around 7" long. Light yet very substantial in 1/8" A2 steel.

I'm saving the Katana and Wakichete for my new shop. I usually work on them on my porch since they are hand done and there is a bit too much ice out there now for that! My new shop will have an area reserved for this type of work.

My wife is doing great at 6 months pregnant and working on leather almost every day. We just ordered more supplies today and plan to keep it up!

The support for my videos has been awesome so a big Thanks for that! As of today I have 50 subscribers and will be improving the quality of my videos soon!

Thanks for all the support and kind words, you guys keep me motivated!

Dude your like a machine. You will love having a shop. I sure love mine, and so do my neighbors. It is the hangout for all the guys in my hood. I do not understand how you and anyone else can get any work done outside in that kind of cold. If my wife would let me I would move to St. Thomas, Virgin Island. Its 40 today and I am miserable, however I was just given a Dearbourn Heater this morning so the shop should be comfy here in a while. By the way, I understand that you stock remove now, but do you plan on getting into forging? If so I have a 32 in. long by 1 1/2 in. round of W1 that was recently given to me. I doubt I will get to it ever and would be glad to hook you up with it as a shop warming gift. Let me know. Good luck and have fun.

Thanks for the update and looking forward to more pics. Always good to see your work. Glad things are moving along and hope you get that break in the weather to get a good start on the shop.

The leather sheath your wife made is great! Hard to believe she just started. I'll get pics of it (and a few other things) in the wild when I visit my folks for Christmas.

Thanks for the update Daniel, from what I hear you'll love the light box. You can do so great effects with
one using colored gels or fabrics over the lights.

Yeah the shop will be very cool! Sounds like yours is cool! I'm tired of the cold and sometimes think about moving back home, I miss TX and my friends.

St.Thomas, I actually used to live there! Talk about a crazy place... very, very nuts.

I have always thought about getting into forging and making a tuyere forge...

Excellent! Really good to hear! That double welt construction is cool! My wife made a business card holder in leather today, we were on the reservation the other day and got some really cool handmade stamps for silver or leather. They are made from old motor valves, super cool.

I'm going to love it! I used to enjoy making videos in college and we had a lot of fun with gels and that sort of thing. It is a simple setup but should work well, lighting is everything.

We're all pulling for you and yours Daniel.

Good to hear that, it really means a lot to me!
