Hey folks! Been a while. Hope all is well. Wanted to share my recent mods. Acid etched, and heavy stonewashed and a fresh edge on my wicked edge. I like how it turned out. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1413688122.365352.jpg

Wow! Man that looks great!! Can you explain the acid etch you did? I've never done one and might give it a try.

Just got the etchant from radio shack. 50/50 with water. Dipped for 15 mins. Rinsed with water. Stonewashed in the tumbler for an hour.

That looks great, it looks like the typical stone finish (a good thing). I have not used ferric chloride to etch 1095 but curious how durable the finish is. Using vinegar only last so long :(

Stomewashing gives it a uniform finish that is a good one for users. Will help hide scratches from use. Many folders have stonewashed blades.

my bk14 is currently soaking in a bottle of expired apple cider vinegar as i tried it for the 1st time before moving on to other blade .. as the coating is not very durable, what do you do to maintain its condition?
