The May 17th On-Line Show that the Emersons are putting on is shaping up to be a real thing of beauty. Here are some specifics to help put your mind at ease:

It will be an online auction.

It will run for at least two, possibly three, days.

Everyone will be able to register to place bids well before the show starts.

Payment methods will most likely include both credit cards and money orders/checks, just like the EKI site.

The auction software should allow you to see in real time exactly what the current bid is on any knife in the show.

We should all be appreciative of the effort Ernie is putting in here to make this happen. In addition to the extra time spent in making these knives - and a few of them are truly special pieces, more on which will probably show up in a separate post - he's spending a fair amount of money to buy the auction software. And a great deal of valuable time working out the details of how best to run the show. There are many people unable to attend a show for a variety of reasons, and this is a way for anyone to "attend" an Emerson show both conveniently and on an equal footing with everyone else.

May 17th: Unique Knives Unique Venue Unique Guy!!

Auction registration is taking place now, and there are pictures of the knives beginning to leak out. The two new models - Gypsy Jack and Roadhouse folders - are both wild!
