Hi all. I have a quick question for anyone who may know. I'm not completely sure, but I believe that I read about the "original blue CRK sheath". Is the sheath pictured below that CRK sheath? It is blue leather with a little Velcro on the opening and is lined with microfiber type material. There is no CRK logo in sight. It came with my knife that was made in 1993.

Thanks for your help!

Yeah, thanks to both of you for your take. I was reading some old sales threads and someone mentioned that their knife came with "the early blue sheath". Of course they posted no pictures (or they are long gone by now) and I've never heard if such a thing. Then this bad boy showed up,... I can't help but wonder.

FWIW, I agree that it is most likely not a CRK sheath.

Its just such an ironic knife.... If someone had thought twice it would not have been Tuice ;)

I have a red leather sheath very similar to this one, comes with my Helix lock folder(Opinel style knife handmade by Chris), but I'm not sure if it's original made by CRK, and the color is dark red, the size is smaller.

Interesting. The plot thickens..... I guess.:)

ha! these morse code confusion never gets old... :D

Congratulations on this awesome grail piece Corytr!

I am sure Ann could verify. I would say no as I have never seen a CRK sheath like that, nothing even close. But it would not surprise me if it was genuine that came with just a few knives from years gone by.

You're right. I will send an email tonight. I know it sometimes takes them a couple of days to get back, but I'll definitely update everyone either way

Here's an update on the sheath.

The previous owner says that the sheath came with the knife and is CRK original. I also emailed CRK and received a response from the woman herself:

I am sorry but I cannot give a definitive answer to your sheath question. I am inclined to think it is not an original sheath but there is possibility that it was supplied at the time. That type of sheath was pretty commonly available back in those days and I know we did use them for a while. The ones I remember were black. We may or may not have supplied blue ones as well, I just don't remember. One of the things we didn't particularly like about them was the piece of Velcro - it had a tendency to scratch when the knife went in and out.

In doing some quick research St.James name popped up a bit. You might try contacting him.
Unfortunately most of the old photo's on these have been deleted

I am a little surprised that Anne didn't know the answer. From what I read they made 6 & sold 5 with 1 remaining in their collection. I wonder if they even know all they have in the collection???.
