Any one know if the standard Millie's are going to get the big lanyard tube and standoffs any time soon?

That appears to be the way they're headed by the looks of the new catalog.

Yeah, I noticed that in the catalogue as well. I'm jones'n for a camo dlc mili but I want to wait for the new ones

Now if they would just go to 4 way carry.. Need my Milli's tip up.

Yep, I've converted two of them and they have gone from nice designs that never got carried to now becoming my most carried and used folders. It would be great to have a factory option for 4 way clip.

Ill i want is lefty carry for the military. It is my favorite folder (from any company) and I didnt try one until after the lefty versions were discontinued. I dont mind the tip down carry. Its a big knife and I have medium hands, tip down carry puts the deployment thumb right on the spydie hole. I feel like tip up would require a quick adjustment of the knife after I draw it.

I'm pretty sure I saw the lefty in the 2017 catalog so we should see its return for a limited time.

I have larger hands, and I've tried the Military tip down on both sides (left/right) and there is a definite adjustment that has to be made to deploy then grip. Tip up I grab, deploy and wrap the rest of my fingers around just like every other knife movement. Tip down right side (blade to back of pocket), I have to pull, spin, find the hole and depoly. I understand it could be easier if I put the blade out, but I would never carry that way if I wanted to keep all my fingers and tendons in my hands. Blade should always be against the back of the pocket for me to carry it.
Just my .02.

All I'm saying is that if you are going through the expense and trouble to update something.. then update something. Especially being one of your flageship knives. It doesn't change anything about it aesthetically, just functionally. Which is the main reason to update something in my book. Why not give everyone the option to carry how they want? The curved clip needs to go and they should do it just like the Para2. Extend the liner if you have to for drill/tapping as a sturdy base or just put in a small piece of nested liner in the end to hold the screws. What would it add, a few tenths of an ounce?

i love that knife and its in pocket all the time but dam could they make the hardwear a bit better to easy to round them small bolts

Mine hasn't left my pocket since I got it. Love the longer blade. I'm in construction and it's perfect

Much prefer tip down,,, grab the knife and thumb is automatically indexed into hole and fingers pull knife into correct position to wrap around handle immediately after blade opening.

FK

Basically what I was trying to say.

Also I do not mind having the triangle on the clip/pivot/tang area above my pocket line. It makes a gloved draw easy.

Lance did you screw directly to G10 or have to add steel inside G10 to screw into?

Thanks
Mike

That is exactly why the design hasn't changed since day one. Sal has stated repeatedly the design was to be used with gloves.

I carry mine at the front corner of my back pocket, spine against seam. I grab either the pivot area or the Spyderhole to draw the knife, then either let it rotate into my palm with my thumb right next to the hole or Spyderdrop it open. Tip up requires too much manipulation to suit me. That and every knife that has ever come open in my pocket and cut has been tip up makes me happy with the Military just like it is.

Maybe to you it doesn't, but to my eyes all those extra empty holes are just plain ugly.

Or you could just buy the titanium version and drill all the holes you want and put on any clip you want.

Agreed 100%. Front pocket for me.

I buy old Spydies to get OG models that didn't have all the holes. Spyderco is making very little money off me. Which is a shame because I'm such a long time fan. I've bought only three new Spyderco in the last four years. Of the 20+ Spydies I've bought.
