Okay, so I took the plunge. A certain online auction site had a pair of custom blue moonglow scales. I was torn between the regular green or the blue, and decided to be a special snowflake and get the blue. primarily since the scales are more clear in daytime conditions, which I like.

They cost me $60 bucks, which is probably too much, but I don't care. This guys products look to be pretty top notch.

Also, I plan on putting these on my black plain-edge Manix 2, but part of me is considering getting another satin Manix just for these scales. What does everyone think?

Okay so here are the pics!

Super high-tech photoshop of what it'll look like on my plain-edge :p
I'm already in love.

You dog, you ;)
You have good taste. Are those the green ones, or blue? Do you have any pics of them glowing?

Btw SHKnives, how do the scales hold up to daily use? I've heard the usual stuff about moonglow acrylic being brittle, etc. but what's your personal experience?

I don't hard use it or anything but it has held up pretty good so far.

Well, I know this is bad and I probably shouldn't, but I think I'm going to use this as an excuse to get another Manix lol. I slept on it since I was totally torn between doing the moonglow on the black Manix or not, and I think I wanna devote a new satin Manix just for these scales as sort of a conversation piece. I was even thinking of getting one of the fully serrated models just for the cool looks of it. I'm not really a fan of serrations but if the blade wont be used heavily I think it might be cool.

Sounds cool, whatever you decide post a pic.

Will do. After much debating I was THIS close to getting a S/E 154cm Manix, but decided to go with the P/E S30V.
I should have both the scales and new knife by week's end. Will post pics ASAP. :)

Very nice. $60 bucks for a set of custom scales is not too much at all. You can easily end up paying 100+ a set of scales for pimping your knife.;)

Wow that is nice! I'm going to have to pick up a pair for one of my knives.

They're awesome. Also, they are much more grippy than any moon-glow scales I have ever handled. It's a hair under the standard G10 on the Manix. I highly recommend these so far.
