I check out the Windows Defender Newsgroups fairly often for the good information that's found there.  When I checked in earlier today I discovered that there were either new or fairly new updates for AdAware SE, Spybot Search and Destroy, and CrapCleaner.
All of these programs are free ware or share ware if you wish to donate to their cause and all are great programs for helping to keep your computer running smoothly. :D
If you have these programs check in and get the updates, if you don't have them you might want to seriously think about downloading them.;) :p :D

Thanks for posting. New adware is always popping up, so you have to stay on top of it - unless you like sharing your computer with a thousand faceless corporations.

Of course, I personally don't have to worry about any of that. Linux immunity! :p

you could set your anti programs to auto update or at least notice, and get notified instantly.

i keep seeing ads for 'stopsign', i wonder what their gig is? i'm guessing "we'll tell you if you are haxored, and fix it for a fee"?

Cheers Yvsa, Adaware updates most weeks, Norton anti virus Ive set for automatic updates evry 4 hours. I use Spybot occasionly to double check but Norton & Adaware seem to keep me running smooth.

I used to use AdAware SE quite a bit backin my PC days... now owning a Mac, I haven't paid much attention to viruses and spy/adware. </smug>

Wow! So when some computer student bothers to think there nearly enough macs about to write a virus for them, most mac users will have no protection!

Sounds like a potentialy fatal epidemic!

Thats rather like never even having a cold in your life then deciding to go to work in a tropical diesase ward. :D

just kiddin you. ;)

Thanks very much Yvsa. I used AdAware for about a year, but then I tried Spybot S&D and never went back. It found and nuked stuff that AA just ignored. Time for an update for sure, as it's been 2 years since I downloaded it.

Thanks for the reference.

Thanks for the headsup Yvsa. I use all 3 programs. (Svashtar - AA & Spybot seem to find different things).
