Updates on ESEE 3 Folder?

Just wondering if there has been any updates on the ESEE 3 Folder going into production any time soon?

Seems I may get that before my HEST/F I prepaid for 4 months ago...
 
nope - Jeff and Mike decided they're not that fond of the framelock proto they posted pictures of previously so it's gone back to the drawing board with no ETA.

I don't remember them saying they weren't happy with it(Possibly the lock - maybe) but there is no ETA, and it is not going to be produced by Lionsteel, who the protos were made by.

Yep, I knew that. I know they didn't like the rotoblock. I didn't hear that they didn't like the whole knife. That's probably a rumor...
 
The last I read that it was going to be made by Rowen and they weren't going to change it much from the Lion Steel prototype.

I'd have to agree. I think they liked the knife, just not the lock. I may be wrong though.

On the ESEE private forum, Jeff said that the more he and Mike carried the prototypes, the more they really disliked them overall, and so they were going to go and redesign them from the ground up.

There will be an ESEE-3/F at some point, just don't hold your breath it will be any time soon.

Did he say anything specific about why they didn't like it? Looked perfect to me. Good blade and handle shape, frame lock, simple design; I would have bought one right now if it was just like the proto!

No real specifics but he said it needed some design tweaks and that he preferred the old RAT-1 folder and the HEST folder over the current design, and so they were going back to the drawing board. He also said they were going to take their time and make sure it's perfect before anything is done. So we'll see I guess!
 
I am passing on the 3 folder and waiting for the Junglas folder that created all that buzz a few weeks ago...
 
I got to check it out, ya'll wouldn't have liked it. I didn't. Didn't seem, right in the hand. Funky opening and all.

The whole project has been scrapped, and will start new, once the Izula folder design is finalized.

Too bad about the 3 folder (again). Still, better they get it right than rush something out we all won't be happy with.
