I sure would like to see a 110 with a pocket clip and thumbstud. This classic folder is an awesome design. The convenience of a pocket clip and thumbstud would be a nice improvement.

I use an aftermarket thumbstud on my 110. Don't remember the name, but bought from SMKW. It screws on securely and works well. As for the pocket clip, I consider this knife to be way too heavy for hanging in my pocket. I carry mine in a leather belt pouch. The Buck pouch hangs out too much, so I use one made for large Boker folders.

I like the way it is.
Although I really like my Spyderco and Benchmade folders, which sport clips, thumstuds or holes,I buy Buck 110 and 532 because they don't have thumbstuds and clips.Somtimes,I find a folder with clip is less comfortable to use.My Buck 110 and 532 are two of the most comfortable folders I've ever use.And some folder thumbstuds always get in the way when I sharpen that folders.
But I really like to see Buck Knives use Aus 8 on their production 110,and I am willing to pay $70 for one.

I can't imagine using a 110 with a pocket clip. The weight would make it impractical. A Thumb stud might be nice, though.

My usual carry is some easy-open knife, partially serrated, in my back left pocket for those one-handed quick jobs, and one of the Pete's 110's on my belt for when I want a more solid knife. (plus a mini SAK)

Gronk; It's called the 'One Armed Bandit' I have one also, but I've got it on my 112 Ranger which I carry on my belt in the original sheath which I have cut down for a moderately fast access. I am thinking of having Mike Sastre over at RIVER CITY SHEATHS make up a Concealex sheath for it. I have two old ( I mean REALLY old ) Buck 110's but they weigh too much. I Find the 112 Ranger to be just right for a "working" folder. I recently sold or traded off all my liner-locks and took my all my lock-backs out of retirement. I had a couple of "incidents' with the linerlocks, and have decided to go with my old tried and true lock-backs. For "emergencies" I carry either a Spyderco Endura or a Cold Steel Voyager as a back-up.

I like the 110 just the way it is. To my taste, adding a pocket clip and/or a thumbstud are not improvements. I think that something like an upgrading of the steel used for the blades would qualify as an improvement.

The thumb-stud would be nice, but a pocket-clip on a Buck 110?...Naw...

I have a couple of REKAT Pioneer folders...A new Pioneer II, and an older Pioneer I. The older Pioneer I doesn't have a pocket-clip.
...Guess which one feels the best in my hand...

I don't care much for the idea of having the clip attached directly to the knife so I carry it like this.

...slap a one-armed bandit on that thing and you're set!

Jeff O,
The sheath pictured above for the 110 appears to be ideal. I have been looking for someting like it for a long time. Where can I get one? Is it available for other models like the 532 or 531?

Jeff O,

I wouldn't mind having one of those for my Ranger. Where DID you find such a nice piece of leather?

Actually it's a Bianchi model 10A, size 1, single-stack .45 mag holder. I took a gamble on the size when I ordered it so I don't know if any of the other sizes fit better. I couldn't ask for it to fit much better than the size 1 does however.

Hereis the link to it at the Bianchi website. You could probably find one at your local gun dealer or on the net someplace. They run around $20 I think.

As for the 532, I figured that a single-stack .380 mag holder would probably work but Bianchi doesn't appear to make that model for a .380 (like for a Walther PPK/S or something).

I too, would opt for the thumb stub but forego the clip.
Jeff O, I agree, that looks like a good solution, easy on easy off and still secure and accessible. Have to try that.

I dont know...

I hear feedback on all sides of the 110 but it is such a classic, and it fulfills its duties so well that I just do not see us changing the basic function of it.

That was what PCKS was all about.

Can you order one from the custom shop with a clip and thumb stud?

I realize that there are a lot of purists out there and the 110 is an awesome knife as is. As a matter of fact I got one for my dad because he just vant grasp the thumb stud or hole idea. He likes a traditional knife. He is also left handed, which does make a difference when choosing a knife. The 110 fit the bill. He loves it!

I would like to have one with BG-42, a thumb stud, and pocket clip.

There's an option... Don't mess with the 110, but the 560, which is essentially the same, is lighter and could be modified in various ways, right??

What exactly is a Buck 560? I remember a reference to something on the PCKS thread, and a pic of a skeletonized looking Buck110. I've looked on Buck's web site a few times, and can't find it. I just assumed that it was some discontinued model.

If it's what I think it is...... I want one!!! Is it a lot lighter than a 110? If so, I want a drop point 560 in BG-42, with a dual thumb stud!!!! Now that would rock my world!!!

Here is a pic of the Buck 560:

I just found one at Smokey Mountain. I'm a happy guy for now.... until Pete starts pumping out BG42 drop points in this model.
