I picked up a virus of some sort months ago. Installed McAfee Virus program which identified it, removed it, BUT doesn't correct damage done. It really wasn't bothering me tooooooo much, so I limped along.

My son gave me an ugrade Win 98 TO Millenium Edition ME for Xmas. I tried to save my bookmarks,(well over a 1,000) collected over 5 years or so. Volume was too large to copy onto floppy, so my ego and confidence led me to believe :::::I CAN DO THIS WITHOUT LOSING DATA.

My little corrupted file, (never did find out what it actually did) gave me major problems in installing the ME program. I tried to recover the Win 98, to no avail. BOTTOM LINE: Had to format my Drive C and start all over. I now have no bookmarks on Knives/related topics, lost all my pics of khukuris downloaded from the forum, and many more sites, on Govt, Survival, Preparedness, Radio Talk Shows, UFOlogy, Sixguns , Firearms, related subjects. MY EXCEL LIST OF ALL MY KHUKURIS WITH ALL THE PERTINENT DATA TO TYPE, SIZE, MAKER, COST ETC///I DON'T CUSS MUCH, BUT FELT A DEEP REGRET IN LOSING ALL THAT DATA. BACK UP BACK UP BACK UP BACK UP. I sure learned my hard lesson this time.

GUESS WHAT I WILL BE DOING IN THE FOLLOWING MONTHS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone having bookmarks they might care to send me?

Thanks Bruise. Lucked out on BladeForums, while trying to get back on the HI Forum. Appreciate the help.

YEP, Time to get a CD writer. Lost all my extra programs I had installed and my addresses. BRAND NEW COMPUTER, STARTING OVER.

I did retain a small number of important documents. My son had divided my harddrive into C & D. IF I HAD THOUGHT, to copy the most important data into Drive D???? but afterthought it was too late.
Think I still have some of the programs on a Master CD, part of my recovery process. LOL Experience is the best teacher.

I lost lots of stuff when a hard drive died once. That prompted me to get a CD writer. I don't use it much and I still don't back my stuff up. :D Some people never learn. ;)

As for UFO's and preparedness, a great site is Stan and Holly Deyo's

Millennium Ark.

Thanks Josh! Had some of the knife sites, but not all, by far.
Stan and Holly do a good job . I even bought Holly's book, 'Dare to Prepare' when it first came out. Stan has CD set of UFO. One day, maybe.

ONE of my biggest regrets: I had gone thru the HI archives and current forum , bookmarked many posts by subject,ie Sharpening, Scabbard repair, Wood handle repair, Horn Handle repair etc etc. Had categorized the models with pics wherever possible. Evaluations and opinions of the different models with test results where possible. I had it pretty well organized, but kept delaying on printing out the volume of info.

Thanks for the big help!

Here's a few more knife-related links from various threads on bladeforums. Some may be duplicates of ones I already posted.

Cutlers Cove

Theo's Knife Links --this one is great! Over 3300 knife and blade links.

And a list of makers/manufacturers and dealers:

Again, some of these are probably duplicates to the ones I already posted, but I'm too lazy to do much more than cut an paste this stuff;).

Also, a few more to keep the UFO thing going:

Richard Hoagland's Enterprise Mission

The Black Vault --this one has a wealth of FOIA documents on UFO's.

Info on the Dulce Underground Base This stuff sounds totally bogus, but it still makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up:eek:

Finally, a link to AUP Press. Tons of books on UFO's, Tesla technology, cryptozoology, extraterrestrial archeology, underground bases, lost civilizations, etc.

You probably have most of the ufo links already, but let me know what areas of UFOlogy you are interested in, and I'll try to dig up some more links.
